. Weekly Green Gym involves local people in environmental volunteering in woodlands at Kingsbarns
. Waid Academy pupils enjoy sessions in environmental work as part of Skills for Work Intermediate 1
. Garden students benefit from work experience and training
. Volunteers are involved throughout the year
. School children and nursery groups are involved in work shops
. Garden related courses/workshops/events/guided tours are held regularly
. 6 allotments have been created at Cambo
. Forest Education
. Summer Arts Workshops
. Dry Stone Walling Courses
. Snowdrops by Starlight (www.snowdropsbystarlight.com)
Plans are underway to provide:
· Increased access and activities for schools and groups
· Orienteering
· Exhibition space for artists and sculptors
· Regular talks and courses on a variety of topics
· Increased practical training of garden students
In recent years demand has increased dramatically and our two constraints are lack of
adequate premises and a person to co-ordinate these activities.
Cambo Institute is currently seeking funding to restore and
renovate the Stables, Coach House and Glasshouses and
also to employ a person to co-ordinate activities.

Stables Building
It is proposed that the stables buildings will become the hub for visitor activity on the Estate.
· Tea room/restaurant
· Space for interpretation
· Shop
· Plant sales
· 140m learning loft for groups /conferences
· Office
· Toilets
The Coach House
The Coach House will provide live-in accommodation
and study space for garden students and volunteers from
throughout the world who wish to come and experience
life and work on a Scottish estate.
The Glasshouses
The glasshouses will be restored and their use extended
throughout the year to broaden the volunteering, participation
and training opportunities.
